HR Research Lab

The objective of the HR Research Lab is to analyse the impact of global economic and technological developments on human resource management, to research the ongoing changes and new challenges in the labour market, and to organise conferences and professional meetings in this context, to provide a forum for high quality discussions for human resource management professionals, researchers and students, where knowledge, experience and inspiration can be shared through the presentation of cutting-edge, innovative HR and organisational development solutions.

 The high importance of human resources is reinforced by the fact that the value of companies is not primarily determined by the value of their assets or real estate, but by the quality, creativity and innovation capacity of the human resources at their disposal. At the same time, a technological revolution in HR has started, along with global technological advances, which will have a huge impact on the work of HR professionals and the way organisations operate.

 One of the focus areas of our researches is the impact of digitalisation and innovation on traditional HR work. This includes, for example, analysing the new role of artificial intelligence and virtual reality in the areas of selection, training, performance support and incentives, or the new tools for performance appraisal and the continuous communication and feedback increasingly required by the younger generations.

We pay great attention to research on employer branding, both in the international and the Hungarian labour market, as recruiting, selecting and retaining staff is an increasingly challenging task for all organisations in the current labour shortage.

 We are also analysing the impact of a number of technological innovations that have led to a renewal of the human resource management toolbox. Among these, it is worth highlighting the response to gamification as an effective selection, training and motivation tool, or the analysis of the wide range of applications that are increasingly used to support HR work, for example in the areas of data collection, training, performance appraisal or the specific or overall development of cognitive skills.

 The changing situation of our economy and of the market players, as well as the accelerating pace of technological development also have an impact on practices in the field of human resources management. The importance of this has an impact not only on the lives, work and daily activities of HR professionals, but also on all senior and middle managers, and indeed all employees.

 We want to create community intersections, spaces where theoretical knowledge and everyday good practice can meet, and where professionals with years of experience and students still immersed in day-to-day training can find the content that motivates them.

The objectives of the research team are:

  • To increase efficiency in HR activities in corporate operations;
  • To get prepared for labour market changes within an organization;
  • Organizational development in enterprises including individuals, processes and managers;
  • Knowledge transfer – learning about good organisational practice through a series of conferences.
