E-learning research lab

The use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in the teaching-learning process increases the possibilities for teachers to apply differentiated teaching methods. ICT can be used to create a learning environment that is motivating and rich in learning experiences, creating effective and efficient learning conditions for all students.

The use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in the teaching-learning process increases the possibilities for teachers to apply differentiated teaching methods. ICT can be used to create a learning environment that is motivating and rich in learning experiences, creating effective and efficient learning conditions for all students.

 ICT fulfils this function if the teacher knows exactly what a tool is able to do, how it can help to learn effectively, and if he or she can make use of the added value it offers, for example in terms of visualisation, teacher-student communication, instant feedback, interactive learning environments.

 

Objective of the lab:

 

  • To contribute to increasing the effectiveness, methodological soundness and quality of e-learning by research and development.
  • To summarise national and international experiences in the application of e-learning frameworks and to further develop the results achieved.

 

Ongoing research in the lab:

 

  • Application of the Moodle 4.1 framework in the teaching-learning process;
  • Virtual classroom with the support of the Moodle framework;
  • Curriculum development: e-methodological solutions for effective learning – assessment, examinations with the support of the Moodle framework;
  • Development of distance learning courses using Moodle;
  • Development of interactive e-books using Moodle compatible software: SCORM – Sharable Content Object Reference Model – eXe and RELOAD Editor , Hot Potatoes etc.;
  • Using Microsoft Office™ tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) for digital curriculum development;
  • Use of Motion Picture Editing and Sound Recording software (MovieMaker, DaVinci Resolve, Audacity) in e-book development.
