About Budapest
Hungary’s capital city Budapest is arguably one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world these days and for many reasons such as low tuition fees, quality of the universities and relatively low cost of living, it is also a prime destination for foreign students who want to experience something new and exciting. Foreign students arrive to study abroad in Hungary for either one or two semesters through the various exchange programs or even decide to obtain a full degree. There are approx 28,000 foreign students currently in Hungary and this number is expected to increase to 40,000 in the coming 4 years.
Budapest has a reputation for being a great place for students. It has an efficient, diverse and easy-to-use public transportation system, it is safe, there are hundreds of student-friendly cafés, inexpensive street food/fast food eateries… and of course the world famous nightlife. Students have a dizzying array of ruin pubs, bars, clubs, live music venues and annual festivals to choose from. There are also special international student events not to be missed, as they are famous for being the best parties in the city.
