We encourage you to visit our print and digital document-based Library personally or online, as you can find almost every available source required to complete your homework or to gather research material.  If something is not in our files, we will do our best to obtain it for our you. In the course of your library work, we try our utmost to realize a level of service and attitude that we would happily like to receive if we were in the opposite role. The use of the Library is free for all our students.

An entry form is required to be completed in order to begin borrowing. You can enroll  in the library if you  are a Hungarian citizen with a legally valid Hungarian citizen’s identity card, or if you are a foreigner with a residence or immigration permit or a Hungarian identity card, as long as the permit is valid for at least ninety days from the date of the loan. (Presentation of a passport or ID card and proof of residence is mandatory). By signing the enrolled reader statement/form, you agree to be bound by the Library’s Terms of Use. You will then receive a Library Card that entitles you to use the library. The library does not take responsibility for consequences in the case of any misuse or abuse of priveleges. A lost library card can be replaced by a library fee. The user must also register even if he/she just wants to use materials on the premises. Upon registration, enrollment, extension of membership and changes to any information, the personal data must be credibly verified. The user can view his/her personal data in the lending agreement at any time. The library treats users’ data in accordance with legal requirements.

The library at Milton Friedman University offers Internet users access to the library at the time of borrowing – both on the desktop computers of the library and with WiFi. It is forbidden to use the computers of the library to commit unlawful acts and for the harassment of others.

Those documents that can only be used physically in the library itself are defined by the library. According to the current rules, they include: journals, textbooks, manuals, dictionaries and some of the digital materials.

Borrowing materials can only be done with a non-transferable library card that you receive at the time of enrollment. You can borrow all the documents that the library has designated for lending purposes. The reader acknowledges the loan agreement by signing a computer-generated document.  There is a maximum of 6 library units allowed at a time per reader; two or more volumes are considered two or more library units. The rental period is three weeks. If the document does not have a pre-order and is a non-borrowed textbook document, this period can be extended twice.

The extension request will be accepted in person or by e-mail, and the library may, if deemed appropriate, set an individual deadline. The library will pre-book on request for a specific document  that has been borrowed by someone else and notify you by email when the document arrives. The document is held on reserve for the subscriber for 1 week, satisfying the requirements in chronological order of the bookings. The library will charge you a late fee for any material returned after the loan deadline. The amount charged  is included in the SZMSZ and the fee table. Late readers are asked by the library to settle their debts via email and if the borrower does not react, the access to the study system is temporarily suspended. If the borrower has lost or damaged the document, you will be liable to pay for the damages.  A student who has a library debt at the end of the semester cannot receive their diploma. Your debt to the library must be sorted out before the final exam!
